The project “EVAC – Empower Volunteering Across the Continents”, co-financed by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union (KA2 – Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices – Capacity Building in the field of Youth) has the objective of promoting volunteering both at national and at international level, through a process of meeting and exchange between youth workers, foreign volunteers and local young people. It aims also to improve the competences of youth workers and the management of volunteers within a network of 5 organization from 5 different countries: Italy, Romania, Peru, Madagascar and India.
“International voluntary work is (always) positive and necessary for a local community?”
“How to ensure that’s the case?”
“How to realize a positive approach between volunteers and the hosting community?”
“How to understand the real impact of this encounter other than the specific experience of the volunteers?”
These are the questions that as IBO Italia we ask ourselves each and every day and are the foundation of “EVAC – Empower Volunteering Across the Continents”. A connection between 5 realities which in 4 continents (Europe, Africa, Asia and Latin America) are supporting volunteering activities, hosts/send volunteers, and wants to confront on these topics creating a manual with good suggestions to be diffused in all the interested associations.
